The Kenai

I spent the last week in a small town called Cooper Landing. It has given me this new sense of relaxation. If you know that there is nothing to be seen or done all day it is much easier to sleep. I did do some exploring around the ocean and the river which was spectacular.

I also did some people watching. I met a girl in relationship with a man who treats her like a pet, tells her who she can be nice to, when she can play etc. It makes me sick to think that man who is in a different city can have such a hold on a beautiful women who should be able to do what she pleases. Giving demands is not love. Controlling how others feel and taking advantage of it is just compensating for lacking control of ones own life and be scared of it.

money doesn't matter

So, I spent a week or so in the bay area trying to find a job, but after a week I realized that I don't want to spend my summer working a minimum wage job in a place that I can't stand. Just as I was deciding this I got invited to humboldt county to stay with one of my best friends. I've been in here for 3 days, and I was supposed to leave today. However, I've found that I don't need to go home and stress about money when I can explore and party and hang out with good people for free. So that's what I'm going to do. Camping out in Arcata with no worries until further notice :)

airplanes

Honestly I have never had an experience quite like the one yesterday on my flight from Seattle to Anchorage. My friend Katie and I at down and as soon as we could buckle our seat belts people were asking us questions and inviting us on rafting trips. the entire three hour flight seemed like a party full of old friends. The man sitting next to us was in his late thirties and was very good looking and yes if anyone was wondering he did have a beard. He told us how he spent winters in Mexico surfing and summers in Seward working for a kayaking company. This lead me again to question why people do things like go to college, im pretty sure this guys didnt and he was living a life I could only dream of.
